Distributors stage similar walk-around tastings at which buying decisions are made so the trade clearly feels the format works. To be able to taste all those wines, which, as I mentioned are mostly sold out (or stratospherically priced) was terrific. And chatting briefly with the likes of Fredirique Lafarge, Dominique Lafon and Vincent Dauvissat doesn’t happen every day.

Please note that the original post on the berserkers thread you linked to refers to the gala dinner, which I didn’t attend. The commenter there said he enjoyed the grand tasting that I attended.
