And don’t forget, folks, TWO BUCK CHUCK SUCKS!!!! Please, please, please STOP BUYING THIS CRAP!!! It does a disservice to the wine world when people think that this stuff is what wine is supposed to taste like.

One other thing about Charles Shaw in NY: I’d be surprised if it’s only a 50 cent raise in NY. Will probably be $1.00 increase given the distance and the introduction of another “tier” in the system.

Ha, glad you can live with it!

Frankly, and I probably should have mentioned this in the piece, but the grape prices have been rising and any overhang of pricey wines has largely dried up. Thus we could see other low-priced brands follow Two Buck Chuck’s “upchuck” lead and raise prices; similarly, the relative shortage of fine wine should put pressure on the flash sale model of wine retail (or affiliated retail).

Two Buck Chuck is sold here for about the same price as in NY. So the price raise is not the crushing blow that it would have been otherwise.
