I tasted some old favorites :
Bordelet, F. Chidaine, Huët, Trapet Père & fils, Agrapart, C. Bouchard, Moncuit, Moutard.

And discovered some great wines:
Classic Campania varietals by Ocone, Roagna’s La Pira and Chricet Pajé, Valle dell’Acate and their fruity, Sicilian Frappato, Lezcano-Lacalle’s Docetanidos rosé.

Damien – glad you are getting more for thirsty Chicagoans.

Jeremy – Yes, that was another pinot gris unlike anybody’s grandmother’s pinot grigio.

Greg – I checked wine-searcher.com for you and it appears no retailers stock Arnot-Roberts wine in Chicago. You might contact the winery to confirm; also, they could send the wine to you directly. Unfortunately, Illinois passed legislation a few years ago prohibiting out-of-state wine shops to send wine into Illinois, so you can’t order from a store in NY, for example.

Where can a thirsty Chicagoan get a taste of the Arnot-Roberts Syrah? Missed it on my last trip to Sonoma.

Arnot Roberts Syrah north coast done with carbonic maceration as well as their Pinot Gris above were downright sadistically good.

For all the thirsty Chicagoans reading this and wondering “where is my Moncuit?” I’d like to assure that more is coming. Candid’s next batch of NV is being packed into a container this week…Of course we do have Vintage, Rose and half bottles in stock for now.
