Mostly the concern seems to be that rich people are doing what they want and are buying expensive wine and now are about to start growing grapes using expensive methods. I went on a tour of China including Beijing in the late Nineties and loved it. How much more fun it would have been to be able to go wine tasting at a Scottish castle after hiking up the Great Wall and kite-flying in Tiananmen Square.
