E Pluribus Vinum will be the new motto for America, soon to be the top wine drinking country in the world! Katie of Ramsey, N.J. suggested it and you voted it.
As a prize, I sent her a signed copy of the hottest (only?) wine book to be released in July, my own, Wine Politics: How Governments, Environmentalists, Mobsters, and Critics Influence the Wines We Drink. Thanks, Katie, and thanks, all, for your votes!

Hello–
Just saw this article. I am the winemaker for Arcane Cellars, an Oregon winery. Our winery has a second label Wheatland, under which we produce a red blend each year. Our motto on the label since 2002 has been “e pluribus vinum” which for us refers to the wine being a blend, i.e. “from many [grapes] a wine”. Just thought I’d pass it on to you. The 2005 Wheatland Red (a Cab/Syrah blend we make from Columbia Valley grapes) just got an 89 in the June 30th Wine Spectator. http://www.arcanecellars.com
Have a good one, and keep up the good work!
