This is my first time submitting to a blog. I have just been linked here after googling ""sparkling red" blog" to see if the rest of the world has finally caught on to a fully developled sparkling shiraz yet.

Unfortunately there is nothing about sparkling reds on this site (dont you sometimes wonder how a search engine works?). I am however enjoying my first bottle of Ninth Island Sparkling chard/pinot n/pinot m and its delicious!

There is another excellent sparkles from TAS called "Bay of Fires" but it is hard to get as it has hit some high notes over the last few years and this years release sold out within a few months - Ninth Island IMO is a few years behind but just as good (actually. not as good but it is getting better down the bottom of the bottle - lol).

Anyway - thats my 2 cents worth except to say stay away from the sparkling shiraz. Its not worthy of the "European fraternity" and therefore should be ignored keeping the prices down for me!

I had another bottle of Tasmanian wine worth mentioning, Devil’s Ridge Pinot Noir. The wine is produced by Tamar Ridge and sells for about $15. The wine is very food friendly and worth a shot if you see it in your local wine shop.
