Search restaurant wine lists: what I want for Christmas

winelist.jpgWe have various online search tools for finding wine in stores. What I would like to see: a similar tool that searches restaurant wine lists.

Some wines are limited production and implement a sales strategy of either direct sales to a mailing list, on allocation through stores, or to restaurants. The first two options can be difficult or impossible to track down. Thus my interest in a new search tool for restos. Heck, I might even be willing to pay restaurant markups for the wine, once found!

Odds of this actually happening: 4,000 - 1.

I guess the assertion above is as scientific as the global warming projections that seem to preoccupy you a lot of late :-)

  2. Restaurant Wine Searcher would be a great invention! It would also be very interesting to do a price comparison between restaurants. I’m guessing there are huge discrepancies.

  3. Hey Doc,

Great idea do not encourage me I am now finishing a list of wineries in Napa and Sonoma Counties! It has taken the better part of one year and about 1000 hours and now I have 1000 wineries or there abouts check back in a couple of weeks when I have this done. We are setting up a web site search able table so a person can search any aspect, varietal, zip code, town, winery. It is an obession once started. My web guy accused me of having no life!
I DO HAVE A LIFE! It just revolves around wine….
