JB - Next time, the caramel! Fish is also v good--and many native English speakers (and AC) makes it friendly for summering, anglophones...

BG - Thanks! The photo, coincidentally enough, I took at Lavinia, yet another solid shop though firmly in the New Wave style. They have closed down one wing (with the serpentine wall) of the spacious store though since <a href="http://drvino.com/2006/08/02/lavinia-french-for-wine-convenience/ rel="nofollow">I was there last summer...</a>

I am feeling really envious right now. Great shot of that display in the wine store, by the way.

Berthillon has this amazing caramel flavor that is sort of like a brulée flavor, with chunks of burnt caramel in the ice cream.

I also love the Derniere Goutte, and the restaurant across the street, Fish, is owned by the same people and is quite good.

Did you get to try hot chocolate from Angelina? I suppose I should read your addendum...
