I'm French, and a good wine drinker. My wife use to drink one or two coupes de Champagne whilst pregnant and we have the most wonderful kids ! Of course I knew about that "pregnant warning". It's a goverments's decision taken before Sarkozy's presidence (he's a non drinker ! Shame !) and it shocked many vignerons and wine writers. But that did not change anything. It looks as if all European countries will have to follow the same law. Luckilly, some countries - wiser than France - resist. Who eveer you are, dear American wine lover, I'm proud to read your comment and I feel sorry for our french Vignerons. Incidently, Bernard Baudry, a Chinon vigneron, is one of the best ! Mon Dieu !
