OK, Jared! Opinion does seem somewhat, um, split, on the matter but I'll adjust in the text above since there's no doubting that a half bottle is a half bottle.

Welcome!

Cheers,

Doctor - not to be particular (well, ok, TO BE particular) a half bottle is not a "split" and, to the best of my knowledge, splits are never used for still wine. Splits are named so only for sparkling wine and are actually 187ml or a QUARTER bottle. A half bottle is just about always referred to as a "half bottle" and nothing else. Unless, of course, you are French and then it's a demi-bouteille, which just means, well, half bottle.

And I was particularly impressed by the number of half bottles offered at Per Se. Although I'd still go to Landmarc in a heartbeat - I love the original location.
