There is also South Cost Sushi in the South Loop that is BYOB. It is pretty nice inside and perfect for a date.

Vella on Western is byob.
They even have a virgin bloody mary mix intended for you to bring your own vodka.

Thank you so much for this. As someone who is single, dating and loves a BYOB, this is an awesome resource. The date I have this weekend doesn’t like sushi, so I have been doing a little homework.

Let me also just put a plug in for Tango Sur: it is by far the best place to get a steak in Chicago. If you want to eat by 7 or 7:30, get there by 6. It is absolutely worth the wait. Go next door to Take 5 and get an appetizer and a drink there too.

Also amazing is Sushi X which is at 1136 W. Chicago Ave. Phenomenal.

I did see that from the Reader. But I got tired of plugging in umpteen dozen Thai and Mexican places, especially since their cuisine does pose challenges for wine lovers. So I just took the Reader "R" rated BYOBs and plugged those in.

Mmm, looking at the map again makes me hungry...

Are you listing only the ones you have tried? Or everything you know about?
The Reader (gasp) has over 300 listings that I use regularly.

BTW, Yes! Thai on Damen doesn't charge corkage. Neither does Hama Matsu on Clark.

You didn’t mention Joy’s Noodles. Their baby egg rolls and the best pad thai…yummm…I don’t think they charge a corking fee either. They are just north of Belmont on Broadway about 2 blocks.
