For sure check out Toro and Rueda, if you do those Ribera del Duero is an easy hop from there. Toro is a great town to see and if you plan ahead there are plenty of wineries to see. Let me know if you need any help arranging visits at any of them!

Bodegas Roda is a great place to visit if you can get in. They are very much from the new school of Rioja and have an interesting philosophy of making wine in this region. They are across the road from Rioja Alta in Haro.

The wine is good too :)
