Assuming we're talking about the same wine (2004 Domaines Ott Côtes de Provence Rosé Château de Selle), the one bottle I had was superb. But I gave it a tremdendous amount of opening time. This is a rosé not meant for instant quaffing and will be better in 3 years or so, and depending on the vintage, can age for 6-15 years. Château Pradeaux and Domaine Tempier are also in this category. (And that's how they justify the higher price.) So, too bad you didn't save a bottle for a years.

Hey, Dr. V-- I completely agree about the Domaine Ott. The first time I tasted it about 4 years ago it reminded me of the contents of a drip pan after an oil change. The Sunday Times report that the trendy set loves it only confirms my lack of interest.

It's hard to beat a cool glass of wine on a hot afternoon day; and there has been no shortage of these in Napa lately. I've been drinking quite a bit of Rose lately and was interested in your reviews of these wines. I especially like Buoncristiani's 2005 Rosato that is made with Syrah grapes. Very easy drinking.

Will keep a look out for some of these, although with the humid summer in Singapore, my preference is towards Riesling and Sauv. blanc.

Had a wonderful Sauv yesterday in fact; the Spy Valley 04 from Marlborough. Absolutely phenomenal when chilled just enough.
