Somehow or other he seems to think this will “show them” (them presumeably being the ranchers) that they can’t get away with higher prices. The general reaction here has been one of “well, yes, eating less red meat would probably be good for me, and maybe it would do some political good, but how would I survive if I didn’t eat beef at least twice a day?”
